It all started in the summer of 2023 in Anniston, Alabama. Malvika was a fourth-year medical student, juggling hospital rotations and OB-GYN residency applications. Avi had just wrapped up his pediatric residency and was jumping into life as a brand-new pediatrician at his family’s clinic.
Malvika did a pediatric rotation with Avi’s father, Dr. Naresh Purohit, who had originally asked Malvika to “find someone around here for my son.” Little did we know, a seed was planted!

On their first international trip to Tulum, Mexico, Avi felt certain. After months of laughter, shared experiences, and growing closeness, he knew Malvika was the one.
